Constitution

OBJECTIVES

  1. Brown Edge Lunch Club will provide a regular opportunity for (usually retired) people in the local community to come together to share a meal and take part in other activities.
  2. Our focus is to encourage the less mobile and elderly people to get out and meet like minded people

MEMBERSHIP

  1. Membership of the Club will be made up of Helpers and Members.
  2. Members will be those who use the facilities provided, and have fulfilled the necessary membership requirements.
  3. Helpers will be those who are involved in the running of the Lunch Club and who have completed the necessary requirements.
  4. The Club will have a Management Committee comprising a Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary, plus two additional Helper members and two Members. 
  5. The Management Committee will be established by nomination and voting as necessary at the Annual General Meeting.
  6. The Management Committee will meet regularly throughout the year.
  7. The Annual General Meeting must take place once yearly
  8. Other General meetings of Members and Helpers can take place when the committe feel is apropriate
  9. The Club will have its own bank account with ………….. bank.
  10. All monies raised by or on behalf of the group shall be applied to further objects of the group and to no other purpose.
  11. The Club will take out public liability insurance and make all necessary background checks on Helpers.
  12. The Treasurer will produce Annual Accounts for presentation at the AGM.

DISSOLUSION OF CLUB

  1. If at any time a majority of the Committee decides that it is advisable to dissolve the Lunch Club it shall call a meeting of all members stating the proposed resolution.
  2. A simple majority at such a meeting shall confirm such a decision. 
  3. Any equipment and/or monies left after settlement of debts shall be donated to such other charitable organisations or institutions having objects similar to all or some of the objects of the group operating in the Brown Edge area. This will be through the auspices of Brown Edge Lunch Club, its successor organisation, or the Parish Council if there is no ability to distribute the monies.
  4. Any Changes to the constitution must be approved at an AGM or a General Meeting of the Club and passed by a simple majority.
